BACKGOUND OF MON STATE FEDERAL COUNCIL (MSFC)

1. Formation of Mon State Federal Council

With the aim of building a stronger and more solid Mon political force for the anti-dictatorship revolution in Mon State after the military coup in February 2021, the Mon State Interim Coordination Committee (MSICC) was initially established on April 19, 2021.

Subsequently, to ensure the inclusion of all ethnic forces and groups within Mon State, it was reorganized into the Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) on January 15, 2023.

The Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) is composed of:

  1. Representatives from Armed Revolutionary Groups within Mon State
  2. Representatives from Political Party Groups or individual politicians
  3. Representatives from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) within the State
  4. Representatives from Overseas Mon State/National-Based Groups
  5. Representatives from Spring Revolution Forces resisting the dictatorship
  6. Representatives from Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) Groups opposing the dictatorship
  7. Representatives from Mon State/National-Based Ethnic Groups
  8. Representatives from Mon State/National-Based Women’s Groups
  9. Representatives from Mon State/National-Based Youth Groups
  10. Experts and Professionals providing advisory support to the MSFC

It was thus formed by organizations and individuals representing these 10 distinct groups, covering the whole presentation or whole society of Mon State. The MSFC believes that only by completely eradicating all forms of dictatorship, including the military dictatorship, a Federal Democratic Union can be established one that fully guarantees democracy, national equality, and the right to self-determination.
